Default Would I be crazy to want to own two allroads?

My 00 a4 avant needs a clutch and brakes. Since it has 87k miles on it and I'm in a good cash spot right now (sold a house) I was thinking of finding a 05 4.2 ar to tow with a boat or camper. Would I be nuts to own 2 ar's? Or just use the 2.7 6mt to tow and keep the a4? Also I was thinking about just getting a new or cpo a4 or a6 sedan, 05 or 06.

Default There is always something to the "devil you know":) My only thought would be gas mileage, but if

you want quattro (all the others are just AWD the mileage is about the same on most of them...if you do your own work you would have good knowledge and if you got the 4.2 TIP they really are different animals with different strengths but then you lose the knowledge base on the engine and trans....good luck...if it were me I would look for an S6 Avant if you can find a good one and you have good local mechanics, especially if the money thing is not an issue

Default current ar is cpo...

I know the 4.2 is a different beast than our 2.7, but the idea is for a v8 to tow with. Mind you small things, I've been eyeing this 19' retractable keel sailboat(1800lbs) and a small folding travel trailer(2100lbs loaded). I'd prefer to not get an suv because I like to drive. I owned a LandRover, fun offroad, boring everywhere else. A 2.7 would tow fine, but the 4.2 would do even better. But owning two ar's might be silly? Maybe I should test drive a q7 or tourege. Also there is a s6 close to me forsale, 75k miles though, not really less miles than my a4, so it too could have issues.
