x-post- Help- Hidden EQ doesn't work on my Bose Symphony....
Tried the hidden EQ per Tech and Stoney's FAQs, but no luck. Buttons 1 through 4 work as stated in various posts, but when I power up with button 5, all I get is the radio turned back on. Is this only good with non-Bose Symphony.
Want to make some changes since the Bose in the allroad does not have the depth and clarity the Bose in my '98 A6 does. Could be a factor of sedan vs wagon, but that would only account for the bass?

You could try de-Bosing it with a VAG tool.
In my '02 changing the factory preset code from 00201 to 00101 did the trick. It removes the Bose filters (high and low, I think), which seem to be particularly unsuited to wagon acoustics. It may or may not make your ears happier, but it's worth a try, no?
