? for you all how do you wax the top of your AR?

thanks!

well, as long as you don't mind it being shinier than matte many of us just treat it like any other

paint on the car.

detailersdomain 01-15-2009 05:22 PM

really it doesn't streak or anything there isn't a clear coat on it is there?

There was a long thread on this on AZ which of course I cannot find now

however I did find this on DB.

DJ_JonnyV:
"From your original pics, that looks very similar to the roof, front bumper, rear bumper and wheel arches on my Audi allroad - black matte paint finish. I remember asking the same question about these finishes. Best I've collected is don't polish them, I personally haven't used any traditional sealants/waxes on it, and don't let machines get close to this paint (tape it off!). So, what to do. I usually use a more durable spray wax/sealant such as Duraglos AquaWax or Prima Hydro every couple months. Spray on, wipe off. Hope this helps."

All I remember is that Audi recommends NOT waxing the roof or wheel arches even though they are painted.

I treat it like the rest of the car.

No. It comes out with more of a satin finish after a regular wax and buff. Does this mean that you

may end up joining our team of allroad owners, after all??
ps: I can recommend some good products from Detailers Domain that work great on this application ;)

Me too...it gets ignored just the same as the rest:) just kidding a little but this past year

she hasn't gotten babied as much due to time, weather and such:(

That was me from Detailing Bliss...

Hey, Phil, the best I found is to just use a good spray wax with some Uber MF towels (of course) to wipe off. I never clay it, polish it, or wax it. BTW, did you end up getting your allroad yet?

detailersdomain 01-17-2009 10:51 PM

that's what I figured a spray wax no clay/no polish, just wanted to see what you all were doing...

no ar I'm going to keep the frig on wheels for now.
