Default zf5hp24 transmission
We have a 2001 Audi A4 quattro 4.2 with a blown transmission. Mechanic is quoting 10k for a rebuild, is this reasonable?? Any thoughts on how to approach this?

Google Erickson transmission in CT. they will take care of you for a few thousand. they are good business.
