I had the same experience and called Audi today. They confirmed that they have my reservation in queue and are sorting out a few technical difficulties on the myAudi.com website.

I also placed my reservation on the 17th and will probably go for the Prestige package (my wife can't do without the massage seats). It also appears that we don't get the camera outside mirrors here in the states. I wonder why?

Regulations are the reason we have conventional mirrors.

Do any of then get the camera mirrors? My impression was this was only as part of their "prototype" look (might be 100% wrong though).

On the plus side, you should gain a crap load of front trunk storage once the engine is gone. Perhaps that's why the Q5/SQ5 have no storage -- encourages you to switch to the e-tron.

^^^ Yes, Europe most certainly gets the digital side mirrors.

No, the front trunk space is very minimal. Lots of photos of this online and shown at the release event in SF 9/17/18.

I actually understand in this case. Electronics seem more likely to fail spontaneously over a physical window.

The night vision in my car sometimes will do a slight skip. I'm sure if Audi is having people rely on the cameras, they'll work very well, but I'm also not sure if there's a lot of reason to use the camera mirrors. That said, I bet I'd find it worth using if I used them.

Forward facing cameras on the mirrors would be stellar (surprised nobody seems to do this). VERY useful when trying to pass on a 2-lane highway.

I am not following the logic and usefulness. You want to look at forward facing camera images, while passing on a 2 lane highway, not on the road? Seems VERY dangerous to me.

I think the idea is that the camera could be like sticking your head out of the window to check oncoming traffic before getting into that lane. I can see that logic (much like in my top view car I can check the corners in back before backing out. I think it would be limited to that level of usefulness though. Would be fun to see the mirror motorize out almost into the oncoming traffic lane
