Default Any issues with Auto Hold?

One quirk (I hope) I've found driving my Edition One is that the Auto Hold doesn't seem to work at stop lights. For instance, if I stop using the brakes at a light but the road is at a slight incline, the car rolls back until I hit the brake again. I thought the Auto Hold was supposed to keep the car in place after you've stopped. Maybe I don't understand the feature; kind of like driving a car with a manual transmission.

I believe you have to step on and hold the brake momentarily to activate the auto hold. I am used to one pedal driving so when I went on my test drive I was surprised when I started to roll backwards down an incline. Once you briefly step on the brake you will stay put.

I've also found I have to briefly hit the brake to activate.

I thought I was doing that, but I'll try again later.

You will see a green A on the display when the auto hold is engaged. I think you have to break to a full stop for it to engage— in other words you can’t ease off the break as the car is stopping.

Personally, I feel like the Auto Hold is very similar pedal timing and feel to the auto stop/start on my previous A4.

Make sure you have auto hold enabled in the MMI.

Page 94 in the owner's manual has a pretty comprehensive explanation of how it all works plus how to turn on in the MMI.

Thanks; it is turned on, and on a drive this afternoon it seemed to work fairly well - just have to hold the brake down a little longer after a complete stop to get it to engage. I guess I was just a split second too early removing my foot from the brake.
