Default Best Practices - Battery Management While On Vacation?

I will be traveling on vacation for a few weeks leaving my car at home. What are best practices with respect to leaving the battery charged (e.g., should I leave plugged in and managed to what %)?

From what i can recall the owner manual stated to set target at 50% for long term unused.
Personally. for duration of less the 3/4 weeks, I would charge to 50/60 % SoC., and leave it unplugged to reduce power surge from thunder storm.
I saw no drop in SoC during the 6 days being unplugged.

If your storage is longer term, you also need to put your 12-volt battery on a trickle charger. The connection posts are in a box in the back left of what used to be the engine compartment.

FYI - I have the same concerns when I travel for long periods of time and leave the Tron in storage. The owners manual recommends against self charging of the 12V battery. See owners manual for 12v battery

I checked this out with both my dealer's e-tron service specialist and the "Audi Central" (800 number) e-tron gurus and both agreed with using a trickle charger for the 12-volt battery during 5-month storage. (Otherwise, the 12-volt will die and make it impossible to start later.)

My car was at the dealer's for 6 days (dent in the door, do not ask :-), and didn't loose a single km (or mile :-))

I just came back from a two week vacation. When I left it was on 70% and when I came back it was on 70%.

FYI - the owners manual has many warnings about charging the 12v. I wonder why all the caution, if your saying the dealer was supporting a trickle charger?

I so far haven't seen any battery change either when leaving it parked during vacation several times now. Longest has been 15 days.

I believe when Audi and others recommend the use of a “trickle” charger they really mean use a specially designed battery maintainer that keeps the 12v battery at a near-fully charged state. They sense voltage drop and “top-up” the battery as needed. Whenever I travel and my cars are idle for 3 weeks or more, they are connected to one of my Battery Tender(tm) devices. I have a BMW convertible that I rarely drive and it will stay connected for months at a time before I take it out for some exercise. We off in a month or so on a longish trip so the e tron will be among the cars so connected. They are hardwired with a female plug. I don’t have to hassle with alligator clips. No, I haven’t checked on how to hardwire the e tron as yet but will shortly.
