I’m sorry if this is covered in another thread (and point me to it if so, and I’ll delete this!). I have been charging at home fine but went to the airport and found an available (and free) ChargePoint charger. I was able to access the charger and plug it in to my etron. And then the ChargePoint screen said “waiting for vehicle” and didn’t charge. And there were no lights on the charging indicator of the etron. No success charging. I went into the app to see if I could initiate charging but to no avail.

Any obvious things I’m missing here? I know I am not giving you a lot to work with but I thought this was worth a shot given all the great help this group is on other topics. Thanks!

My building uses free chargepoint charging, so that's how I charge every day. I use the wallet on my iPhone to authenticate and just plug in and it goes. Sounds like you found a bum chargepoint point.

I've had that happen with a different company when the machine was installed but not actually ready for use. It was frustrating, the check-in was there on the company's website--so it was not an over eager plug share issue-- everything looked good, but there was no connection and a message that it was "unable to connect to the car". I sent a notification only to get feed back the next day that it was a "new site that wasnt ready". Ummmm.... Then maybe you should have signage etc?? 🙄

Reading your original post. when you refer to went into the app. I think you are referring to the myAudi app.
ChargePoint locations need the chargepoint app to activate ( initiate the charging) in one of two ways a) by hitting the Orange "Start Charge" button with the app of the specific station , or b) tap your phone with NFC on the charging station.

I believe even if the station is free, you will need an account and the same procedure above.

Anyone know if the Audi free Kwhrs works through the Charge point account?
