Charging door button?

I'm disappointed to hear that Audi will not have the charging port on the passenger side for US models. It will only be available on the driver side. This was mentioned by the e-tron product manager in this video at 3:08.

disappointing for sure, i wonder if there is some obscure US regulation that prevents it..,.. seems like a strange difference between markets, since the fender will have the cut out, empty space behind it, etc.

My guess is that it is that the second charge port is not there simply to save some money. Not that it is a deal breaker for me, but it would have been nice. Really nice.
