Default Disappearing Etron inventory

Whats coming?. Why is there minimal Etron inventory . Within 500 miles of my zip code , there are 50 Etrons and 400 nationwide. That’s very low inventory.

I am just curious. Thinking I was luck to get my trim and package last month. Wondering what was Audi’s motive behind cleaning out the inventory by giving out upto 20% OFF MSRP. Any insiders ?

There's an inventory shortage on just about everything right now.

I'm guessing audi pushed these out to get e-tron brand recognition in advance of the q4 launch, as it's a much higher volume product.

They are in business of selling cars. Doesnot make sense that there’s is shortage due to a different Etron model which Doesnot even arrive in USA till late 2021 or 2022.
my best guess is they are getting rid of each and every 2021 model and rolling out 2022 Etron model soon.

They haven't been pushing other 2021s nearly as hard to clear out for 2022 models.

That would suggest that the e-tron wasn't selling particularly well, so they incentivized to get them moving.

It would also make total sense that they'd want to get as many of them on the street leading up to the new product launch as possible for more brand recognition. They're betting on EVs as being a major profit center and getting their name associated with that as soon as possible is in their best interest for selling cars.

There's a shortage on every car right now.

To answer the question: Low springtime inventory is normal. European cars designated for North American unsold inventory are typically shipped around the same times each year. The last cars are usually on ships by January and in-stock dealer inventory peaks in February as the cars arrive at dealers.

Selection drops as the best cars sell first and, by May, the only cars left are the less popular colors. In Colorado, there were more than 160 e-trons listed for sale in February, including just about every trim and color combination. Today there are 36 and no more are coming. Hope that helps explain it!

High incentives and dealer discounts resulted in very competitive deals. People snagged etrons cheaper than Model 3. I guess they focused on Q4 production lately, which will most likely sell more than regular etron due to its price and competitiveness.

I also heard from an Audi corporate person that they sold 1400 etrons during March in West Coast only.

I’m happy to see more fellow etron owners on the streets.

The 3 dealers I was shopping in the upper Midwest had a combined 40 e-trons in inventory back in March. I had to wait until April and signed on the last day of the month and the dealer had to truck in the car from their sister dealer - they are completely sold out. $20k in discounts will do that... : )

It's not just the e-tron. Inventory on everything is super low right now.
