E-tron order status change

My status is still "en route", however, the information has changed from "crossing the Atlantic" to "heading to dealer".
I also received an email stating that my $1000 reservation fee is being refunded to my credit card.
Edition One - 9/16 Reservation date

Interesting on the refund - if the money is coming back do you really have a "reservation"?

The reservation fee was always described as being between me and Audi corporate vs my dealer. When I reserved, and at each stage, they let me know that I would be getting the reservation fee back to put towards the down payment at the dealer. I agree, there is nothing binding me or the dealer to this vehicle sale but it would be a bad look if the dealer tried to handle it any other way.

Reservation for Prestige on 1/28, config lock on 3/28, gearing for prod 4/3, in production 4/5 - just notified on 4/19 leaving the factory. We'll see if refund of reservation fee is the next step.

Mine is through the Panama Canal currently sailing across the gulf before turning W/NW.
I need to decide pretty soon if I'm going to accept delivery, because I'll probably want to sell my X before bringing it home.

They emailed us last week the $1,000 is going to be refunded momentarily ahead of arrival, so it must be getting pretty darn close. It's said en route for a few weeks.
We're trying to decide what to do about a '16 S6 with 27K miles, having not driven any e-tron or seeing it in person. It would be nice to do a private party + in/out sale (to save on sales tax), which we've done before, but since we don't know when it'll arrive or whether we'll ultimately pull the trigger, it's not on the market yet. I assume trade-in is a terrible value.

So my Galaxy Blue Prestige, Reserved 9/20 Locked 12/30 in production 3/22
.. has now spent full month 'in production' has to be some kind of record. This wait is getting interminable.

The MB EQC 400 may arrive before my e-tron does. The EQC is anticipated third or fourth quarter of this year.

Most of these automakers are getting their batteries from LG Chem. They will all be in the same boat, in terms of limited battery supplies. All of these ambitious roll outs of EVs will face the same realities.

I reserved on September 15, configuration locked on December 30, in-production on March 1, leaving factory March 5 and en-route on March 20. The vessel that it is on is currently docked at the Port of San Diego. It should reach the Port of Benicia on Wednesday or Thursday. I assume it will sit there until whenever Audi decides to release them to the dealers.
