E-tron order status change

A bit of knowledge essential to the making of a proper deal by the buyer/lessee is the invoice price to the dealer. This includes any "factory money" made available to the dealer by the manufacturer.
A Q8, which is touted to be made of many more parts than a similarly-equipped e-tron, has a sticker price nearly the same as the e-tron. I should believe that the profit margin of the e-tron is significantly superior to the profit margin of the Q8. I am interested in knowing all of the numbers, are you?

The development cost of the Q8 is likely an order of magnitude less than the Etron. Once development costs are rolled it, it is true EV's have occasionally been financially challenged.
The real problem so far has been that a car like Q8 has a production profit margin of 30% to 40% to the factory. The Etron is more likely to be in to 10%-15% production profit margin. Every Etron sold rather than a Q8 reduces the factory profit margins. This has been a tough dynamic to overcome internal to company/dealer.

Nevertheless, it would be good to know what the invoice price is for the e-tron vs. Q8.

Or whether the dealer is even part of the equation, given the reservation system which directly links customer to manufacturer. I'm sure they are, but it could be at a lower margin than on a traditionally ordered ICE car.

Yes, that's what I was told too by the dealer FWIW that the margin on the Etron is lower for the dealer due to the direct reservation system. It would be nice to know but so far the E1 folks haven't been able to budge the MSRP lower. And these are the loyalty folks with direct dealer connections. A few free goodies maybe but not the price. Other that a few hundred cancels this is not a car that is going to pile up on lots. Even now it must be direct ordered and AFAIK dealers can not order it.

I'm noticing e-Trons for sale at Boston area Audi dealers listed on Cars.com or Cargurus.com, but not on the actual Audi dealer websites. I wonder why? The prices remain full MSRP.

My plan was to test drive the vehicle and think it over next day before deciding to purchase or not. At least that is what my better half told me to do.
Anyway, they gave the usual spiel about brand new model and selling at msrp and ask what it would take? I told them $2000 off and very surprised they said yes because definitely I was expecting a counter offer.(no haggling at all ). I took the car home that afternoon and also took advantage of 1.9% financing. Very pleasant experience.

Some are trying to add additional markup - but when there are 200 of them available to buy today in the USA and 150kwh hour chargers are a mirage - nobody is that anxious at this time. Or at least I wasn’t. I paid sticker for E1 and had several to choose from at a variety of local dealers but only 1 didn’t act like fools.
i did work them up quite a bit in my ‘difficult trade’ tho

Is there anything missing from the E1 that isn’t on the Prestige? I know the additions but wanted to make sure if I dropped my Prestige that I wouldn’t be missing something off the E1. If some dealers are stuck with E1’s and will shave a couple of grand off I might be tempted.
My car is on a boat not but not due until June. Status still says “leaving factory” so no idea when I’ll get my $1000 back considering it’s actually “En Route”
Tempted by the E1 but given June if just around the corner, maybe I just wait
