Mine was in production phase for the last 2 weeks but it just updated to "Leaving Factory".

Does anyone know when I get assigned a VIN number?

My Edition One is also in "Leaving Factory" status. The VIN is typically assigned at production. At this point of "Leaving Factory", it should most certainly have a VIN.

Yes, I'm sure the car has a VIN. I guess Audi tracks the production based on reservation/order number instead of VIN. I was hoping to look up the user manual online.

Mine has finished production and my dealer was able to give me a VIN number. Expecting a boat in the next couple of weeks and maybe an April delivery!

Great news!! It would help as folks receive updates, that they also list the date of reservation.

I dont remember the date of my reservation but it was a few days before they became “available” to the public. It didn’t hurt that i just ordered a RS5 so i think my dealer was happy to push me to the top.

I checked online and reservation date was 9-15-18. Edition 1 E-Tron
