Hideous CA Clean Air Decals on eTron
One of the perks of having eTron in CA is that you can pay $22 for free access to Cal-Trans HOV lanes.
However, in order to do so, you need to place these hideous decals on the rear bumper (x3) and single decal on the front driverside bumper. I missed getting the latest decal by 1 day (2020 was Orange and 2021 is Blue).
In any case, I used some bulk XPEL Protective Film and had the CA Clear Air decals placed on top of the XPEL and then cut out the pattern. This makes so that at the time of removal will very easy and not leave difficult to remove adhesive.
I wish we didn't need to place these hideous decals on, but if that's the only way to get HOV access, gotta bite that proverbial bullet.

The film does make it easy to remove the decals. And easy to get them on straight.
I've tried twice to live with those hideous things on my car. They came off after two days the first time and one day the second.
Diminishing returns here in No Cal. Not missing out on much without them. I'd rather be invisible.
I have to say, purple on Daytona slightly better than orange on black.

Arizona has a much better method for using the HOV lanes. That and annual registration is only ~$32 versus ~$800 for a comparable IC vehicle.

Good thing I dont need to drive in rush hour traffic everyday for the past 5 years. I have meetings in LA and SD from where i live in OC, but travel non rush hour. THose stickers are hideous. If I needed it everyday, I would use it, but no way right now.

yikes, that is hideous.... I'm surprised out in California with the push for EV's in such "high favor" that they don't reverse it and just make all the gas cars wear a big ugly sticker....

Put stickers on the smallest number of cars. If a minority of cars were ICE, it would make sense to have stickers on those.
