I would suspect that after a period of plugging and unplugging the charger it will seat more easily into the charge port. This is what is known as the "break in" period for EVs.

Ordered my JB 40 today as well and hope to have it installed (plug in, not hardwire) by next week. Now just need a car to power up!

See post #113 for a good picture of placement - box to plug - plug cord is only 12 inches long. Plug has the ground pin up.

- If your house has more than a single phase 240V, then you could go higher than Level 2. but I have no idea.

For your business, I have seen many hotels installing EVgo, with 50 kW DC ( both CHAdeMO and CCS ), so you are on the right path in talking to them, if you can do Level 2 or level 1. I believe Level 3 needs a step-down transformer from 7200V to 480V on premise.
So here’s my current update. I installed a 50 amp circuit at my liquor store over the weekend. I mounted the box fairly high at about 5.5 feet off the ground. I used a new 50 amp circuit and an outlet from Lowe’s that has a medium grade commercial RV box. 6/3 UF with about 15 feet of wire.

this gets me by for now, but I’m still seeking to go with a dc unit. I know there are some Bosch units out there that are 25Kw, and some BTC, or other units that are 50Kw. Costs are high, but then again, as a business investment, it may be worth the stretch to be the only fast charger in our region.

What if I asked the power company to bring in 400 amp service or (I have 100 now and was getting ready to bring it up to 200 for solar). I’m drooling for faster charging.....

What about contacting the power company? Maybe they’d like to be able to say sons high speed chargers are around and they’d make a deal.

For anyone using the link on the e-tron reservation page to the Amazon site for getting pricing on charging installations: Beware of ridiculously high cost estimates for installing the wiring from your panel to an outlet. Based on the distance from my panel to my garage, I received a quote for almost $3500 from their automated quote generator. I'm hoping that the actual cost, if I used their service, would be lower once they got to my house and looked at the necessary parts and effort.
I ended up calling a local electrician and got the work done for under $500. The cable run of 6/3 wire from my panel to the outlet was 75 feet and the work took about 2 hours to complete.

Yes, I posted earlier that I had a similar quote, but bought all the parts needed from a Lowe’s store. 6/3 UF at about $1.50 A foot, a 50amp breaker and an RV style receptacle with the weather box for about $32. All in I’m less than $250 and it took about 2 hours. Get a local contractor.
