Rear Fog Lights
#11
Plaintiff's lawyers have filed negligence suits when there is an accident and the fogs were used. Among other things they allege the fog lights interfered with the ability to see the car ahead of them stopping because both the fog lights and the brakes lights are red. Similarly, Plaintiff's lawyers alleged negligence with the remote "roll up windows" feature. Tons of litigation over some of these features in the USA. I am not a Plaintiff's lawyer. Seems we are the most litigious nation on earth.

Bringing this topic up from the dead. I noticed my 2019 has the rear fog lights on the rear bumper, but not the switch or any way for me to turn them on. Has anyone in the US been able to turn them on via OBD11 or some other scanner like CarPro?

You have them on a BMW MOTORCYCLE - because that's what a Beemer is. If you are referring to a BMW car the correct term is Bimmer.

And a pro tip for those with Adaptive Cruise Control, the radar has no problem seeing further through fog than the human eye.
Though I do agree than most American ******* have no idea what either fog light is for, usually Jaguars or Mercs.
