Default Winter test of 5 EV crossovers

Another real world consumption test that included the e-tron.

English Summary at Inside EVs:
https://insideevs.com/winter-test-el...reveals-range/

Here's a basic summary that includes range, usable/full capacity:
  • Tesla Model X 100D – 450 km (280 miles) – 98.5 kWh/102.4 kWh
  • Hyundai Kona Electric – 415 km (258 miles) – 64 kWh/67.1 kWh
  • Kia e-Niro – 400 km (249 miles) – 64 kWh/67.1 kWh
  • Jaguar I-PACE – 370 km (230 miles) – 84.7 kWh/90.2 kWh
  • Audi e-tron – 360 km (224 miles) – 85 kWh/95 kWh
There's a lot more info at those links.

This is great information, shows that the E-Tron is within 10% of the Model X in consumption 21.8 kWh/100km for modelX, and 23.6 kWh/100km for E-Tron, This lines up with the assumptions I had. and E-Tron winter range near 225 miles, better then Bjorn's 205 mile estimate. If E-Tron uses 1.5 kWh more energy per 100 km then Model X and you figure a 200K km life of the car ownership, 3000 kWh in the lifetime, which at our power rate is .09 per kWh, $270 over the lifetime... and Model X costs 25% more in capital cost, and more to insure... hmmm...

I like it. Does not look like a bubble. Over 200 mile range on Etron winter running with that incredible amount of electronics and comfort packages. I'm sure most folks running around in city will get a better range.

Consider the power demand items included.
The prestige model + cold weather has an incredible amount of comfort equipment all drawing electric power, one way or another.

heated 4 seats,
Lots of insulation for acoustics,
Dual zone climate control in back,
seat massage,
Heated steering,
powered steering adjust,
Bang & Olufson 700 watts,
LIDAR heated,
HUDL,
3 display screens,
Rear seat display screen small,
acoustic front & rear sensors,
power front seats,
powered panoramic sun roof
& power protection screen,
heated wind shield fluid,
powered rear door,
owered door locks,
heated side mirrors,
power boost mode always active,
high ground clearance.
Regular tires.
Does not look like a Bubble.

And it holds an approximate 12% battery buffer. Which is a very nice reassurance. And did I mention earlier, does not look like a bubble, just want to get that in there.

I love the way Google Translate inserts "e-throne".
