Your e-tron configuration is almost locked
 

I received an email today with the subject "Your e-tron configuration is almost locked". I'm scheduled to lock next week on March 28th. The date is subject to change, but I hope be locked and loaded soon.

I got the same reminder email yesterday--lock date March 28, 2019. I reserved on December 4, 2018. From reading other posts on this thread over the past few days, if I remember correctly it appears that the process is advancing at an increasing speed--even bypassing a stage or two.

My configuration did lock and I am gearing up for protection. I have been "stuck" at gearing up for protection for a week or so.

Don't hold your breath. I've been "gearing up" for over a month...

No rhyme or reason as to how this all works - mine went from "gearing up" on 4/3 to "in production" on 4/5 - order date was 1/28.

I've read multiple reports that due to battery supplies and other factors, the production rate has been running about 50% of the goal. If that's true a several month delay in delivery seems likely.

I traded in my Q7 last Friday, so I hope my e tron is not delayed too much. We can live with one car for a while, but I'm hoping to receive the e tron in July at the latest.
