Default Adaptive Cruise Assist: currently unavailable

500 miles in to an 1800 mile trip and the adaptive cruise control unavailable indicator has popped up. I like cruise control. How do I get it back? I have stopped three times. Washed the LIDAR cover. Thoughts.

Normally if I get a warning I solve it by restarting the etron. No luck today.

I believe it does this when the system loses confidence that it knows where the car is on the road in relation to other vehicles. I've found that it almost always flips out like this when a semi truck is in a neighboring lane for too long. It happens almost instantly if I'm between two semi trucks for more than a second or two.

In all cases, I've found that cruise can be re-enabled after a minute or two.

When you get this error, do you also get a half-dozen other alerts about various driver assistance features being unavailable? Becuase that's what happens with mine. And those other alerts take about 10 minutes to reset and clear, but cruise becomes available again within a minute or so.

Normally I get this as part of a cascade of lots of errors and I simply restart the car. This time the error stands alone. I just stopped ro charge in Ohio and it is still on.

Another side effect of no adaptive cruise assist. My efficiency has gone a bit down with my yo-yo'ing the accelerator a bit. That cruise control is smooth.

Have you checked your Front Pre-Sense camera to see if something is partially obstructing it? Fog, dirt, etc.

No hard rain.

It is still down today.

I am at Audi of Iowa City asking if they will pull any codes.

So far they have said no they won't.

Dynamic calibration fault.

Tech cleared it. He says that it will come back. Needs to be actually seen for real appointment.

Thanks Adam for fitting this in even without your e-tron tech working today.

Mine hasn't worked for a couple months either, just haven't had time to get it to the dealer...

This happens to me in the same places on highways in Dallas, typically on interchanges and overpasses. The system comes right back the moment I leave said overpass or interchange.

My 2018 A4 had no issues like this, so I was surprised when this developed with the 2021 e-tron. One day I would like to try with my dad's 2021 A6 and see how that handles it.
