Failure to move while in traffic
Today I was at a busy intersection and when the light turned green the car failed to move forward. I cycled through PRNDS with no joy. The car simply rolled freely. There was a message about adaptive cruise not able to operate. I was getting anxious as the horns of cars behind began sounding.
My wife had the good sense to tell me to turn the car off and back on. Worked like magic. Thank God for my right seat driver.
No clue why or what happened exactly, but seemed like a software glitch, solved with the equivalent of “Control-Alt-Delete.”

This happened to me only once in five years in stopped traffic when I thought my adaptive cruise was on but it would not engage when I pulled back on the stalk. I had to do a hard reset as well and from what I remember at the time, I had that same message about adapative cruise not able to operate and after a few minutes, everything was clear and operating as per usual. I have had a couple of other glitches in very heavy rain/snow but that was to be expected in those types of conditions. I'm glad you were able to get going without any further mental anguish.
