Default Missing EA charging stations

I have taken a few long trips in the last couple months and have noticed that many EA charging stations don’t show up in the maps.
When I use the search function and choose the DC chargers some of the EA stations don’t show up. I use PlugShare and ABRP to find options but it would be easier if the showed up in the maps section in the car. I assumed the stations updated dynamically but not sure it does.
Is there anyway to update the maps or add more stations?

What year is your Etron? What state are you in?

The car is a 2021, I have noticed it in WA, UT and NV so far.

Audi does not dynamically update the charger list in the map data, as far as I am aware. My 2019's maps are so far behind that the in-dash routing algorithm for charging is effectively useless. I just use ABRP and PlugShare to plan trips that require DCFC. Audi really dropped the ball on the in-dash nav.

I must say that is very disappointing. I use the third party apps a lot but it sure would be nice to also have the in-car option.

This thread is starting to intrigue me. I think that part of this boils down to how Audi pushes map updates. Audi pushes map updates by state and regionally. Your car has to physically be present in a state or region in order to have the map update pushed to it. It has to be in that location for an unknown period of time that is a least a few days. You also cannot manually force updates based on projected travel which is a bit of a pain.

I live in DC. My daily commute takes me into Maryland. My maps are always updating for DC and MD. However, my map for Virginia which I drive through apparently not often enough is still two years old. I have driven up and down the coast and across country a few times and I have noticed that if I drive into a state, nothing happens, however, if I spend a few days in the state, the map update ICON appears on the MMI and the map updates pretty quickly during that trip. But you need about three days of the car being in a new location.

I also thought, maybe incorrectly, that the EA's were being updated. I do not know if those are updating via the map updates or other data downloads, but I have been to EA's in far flung locations and they appear on the maps. However, I also have hit an EA on the Pennsylvania turnpike (Cranberry TWP) which is simply in the wrong location in my Audi Map. I followed the map the first time and ended up in the back of a mall instead of the Sheetz where it is located. PlugShare and ABRP have correct location.

So, I have not really added any value to this discussion. Just a few data points about map updates. Personally, I'd like to be able to force an update for a trip. If I send a route from myAudi app to the MMI, I think the car should pull the most current maps for that route. I leave for FL tomorrow and from DC to FL, DC is updated (I live there) SC is updated (I have spent a few weekends there), FL is updated (Holidays). However, VA, NC and GA are still two year old maps because the car only travels those states and has never spent three'ish days there. Being in DC I travel to VA all the time, I'd love to force VA at least.

Telemetry is another issue. My '19 does not really pull valid telemetry from EA's. I can roll up to an EA that is completely offline (Seven Corners EA in NoVA) and the car has no idea and will still route you there for a scheduled re charge.

And then as someone else has mentioned, in my '19 it has this really weird habit sometimes of selecting EVgo or a random L2 charger in a KIA dealership instead of an EA that is a block away.

I have never seen a map update icon on the MMI. I mostly spend time in WA, but I did spend a couple days in NV, never saw the icon.
My wife and I went on a 1,000 plus mile road trip with our friend who have a Tesla. We both used EA (he has a CCS /Tesla converter) at times and other times used locations that had both in the same parking lot. His maps in the Tesla are so much better, and always updated.

I've seen the same. California North and California South didn't update, but the rest of the trip did. Why? I was in both North Cal and South Cal map regions for less than a day, so is that why not an update? EA's seem to follow map updates, at least they did on our recent trip.

Yes, please please. How much does it cost Audi to provide an update? Can't be much. How much did I pay for the car? And the Audi Connect? And I can't update maps when I want to??? Give me a fricking break.

I have a 2019 SUV. Pretty much every time I turn on the car it tells me it is updating the maps.
