thanks for tires suggestion. We have very broken roads in NY, so I hope i wont smash the rim or tire by overinflating. But I'll give it a try. Also other suggestion was to wait until temperatures will be consistently around 80F
what about the long term efficiency from the app?

I own a car for 5 weeks now and put only 1500 miles on it (Including drive from Florida where I purchased it), so hardly can talk about long term efficiency. 😀

I just did a test on my 11/19 made Prestige where I charged it to 100% last night. Current miles on the car around 30,600; only ever L2 charged generally to 90%. My car does not have the efficiency enhancing hardware changes that might have applied to the really late production ‘19’s’.

Ambient temp in garage 64dF

Range on the GOM 200 miles.

no Preconditioning whilst plugged in, just drove off around town

Here’s my results when I got back home:

If I add the 15.4 miles I drove to the 191 miles showing on the GOM, I’d get to 206 which is very close to the stated range of the ‘19’s. Ambient temp during the drive was 68dF, so without the stop lights and if I’d performed my usual preconditioning and got my efficiency to 2.8-3.0 mkWhr, I think my true range would be close to 210 miles. Granted I was driving slowly as I wasn’t on the highway.

I only did the above to show the OP what a ‘19 can achieve when charged to 100%, and to prove to myself that my % battery loss over the last 3 1/3 years has been pretty marginal.

I use my '19 like an ICE. Drive it every day with full HVAC, lots of people a pet. We road trip it regularly. I plan on 170 mile legs at five over the highway speed limit. A little less mileage is easy, a little more mileage and I have to charge to 100%. But one thing I did discover a year or so ago, is that if you ever start feeling uncomfortable about making your destination, you can switch to eco mode and the car just starts clawing back mileage. But I don't like doing my everyday driving there (at eco mode), so I just plan on 170 miles and drive it like I want to. Do I wish the car got 300 miles, of course, but I love it.

My last ICE car could do over 500 miles of range on the highway; Last time I drove for little over 300 miles without a break I almost needed an EMT team to extract me from the car! LOL; Been driving etrons for over 3 years and more than a handful of long multi day road trips. At my senior arge I am glad to get out of the car every 150-170 miles and take a walk to the rest room/grab & go counter! Many EVs have more range which is good for the first leg of a trip but many EVs are so slow charging from 80-100 that the extra range disappears in reality on road trips where multiple charge stops are required. Finally, bio breaks can take longer than some cars need to charge so while the etron is not the fastest charging EV anymore it's fast enough to be an effective road trip vehicle.

2.7 mi/kWh! Wow! I never get that kind of efficiency in my 2022. Like, ever. I get more like 2.3 mi/kWh at best. That translates to about 200 miles on a full charge. 222 miles of range..... yeah, right.

EV defenders always default to the "But you will need to pee" or "At my age..." arguments. Those are all valid arguments, but here is what is also true. You can have time that you want to separate those events from charging and it would be nice to have the flexibility to do so. We drive our e-tron on extended road trips regularly. If you were to drive south on I95 right now, you would want to skip charging in SC to avoid the Signet chargers in Walterboro and Florence. You might still want to pull over and pee, but you do not want to charge at 25kW. We drive through SD? There simply, for some completely unclear reason, IS NO DCFC charging until Wall SD. You need more range to cross the state.

You should be able to road trip and have the flexibility to skip a charging location based on any number of factors. I reserve the right to pee and not charge.

Stupid question, but how do you pre-condition battery?

I experienced this first hand driving from Florida (where I purchased the car) to New York, and I have to say, breaks (6-7) every 150+/- miles were actually very pleasant and refreshing. Not to mention SAFE as well, as you regain consciousness and focus. In that aspect EV's are really "life savers". Recently spoke to mechanic who drove the same drive in sedan Mercedes Diesel and he said: "car could go and go an go, on one tank of fuel, but it became extremely dangerous as we were both falling asleep and lost attention." So, to me this whole idea of little range and stalling on highway with EV is all BS. My whole point is - having around 200 miles on display feels reassuring and allows for nice cushion reserve in inclement weather for example...
