Wall Mount Bracket

Just took delivery of my 2019 e-tron and wondered if anyone has purchased the Audi wall mount bracket for home? Part number is 8V4-915-706-D. Price is $330.

If you mean for the mobile charger you have the wrong part number. You want 8V4-915-899. I bought it here but there are several online sites selling it. And the price is only $65. When I bought it this was the first site I found that actually had it in stock (some say they do but then don't ship one) and they had a free shipping promo.

Thanks, so this is the bracket to use for the e-tron charger that comes with the car then.

Correct. Works fine for me.

I purchased Part # 8V4-915-899A. It's more expensive than the $65 version Avie ordered, but it also looks different. This one incorporates a hanger for the cables.

Correct I ordered the same $64 bracket from audipartsstore as Avie did. It does not have the cable flange but got a $8 hook from Home Depot.

I have no problem wrapping the cable around the bracket without a need for a separate hook. There is enough of a lip on the top of the bracket that you can wrap the cable right there.

Here's a picture of the 8V4-915-899 showing cables hanging just fine.

That part was sitting in the frunk for us with the charger when we picked up the car in Canadia.

Mine arrived today. $65 for a piece of plastic that they couldn’t even provide screws to mount it to the wall. Kind of annoyed considering I ordered last Monday with overnight shipping and only arrived today (they didn’t send until Friday).

Hey guys, new e-Tron owner here. Also was disappointed to discover that mounting stuff is not coming with vehicle, so found this topic. After reading it, I'm actually still confused. I see there is a bit different part numbers and different devices as result. In this topic I saw 8V4-915-899 and 8V4-915-899-A. When searching online I see there is also 8V4-915-899-B, but no images are available.

Also looking at your pictures, as I understood it is not coming with that thing like outlet to put cable there (pictured in owners manual). I googled a bit and seems this part number 8V4-915-706-D is actually kit which includes everything even mounting hardware. Did somebody ordered that?

Welcome. The "outlet like thing", you can get a generic one from Amazon for about $7 - there are many style to choose from - search for J1772 Holster.
If I recall correctly the bracket came with two screws taped in the back of the units. The older part# is for the A3 e-tron and it fit perfectly fine, it has a spring action ( molded in the plastic) to lock the capsule in place, instead of a white locking mechanism in the later part#.

Thanks for the idea with Amazon

If you look at the picture I posed awhile ago there is a large enough "lip" to hang the cord. No need for additional hangers.

Thanks, I saw it. I like to have a holster not for cord hanging purpose, but to put plug there to be nice and safe :)))

I like how they doubled the price on the "revision"! :D Sure, it's a lot more plastic, but ... it's ... plastic!

I think I'm just going to put a sturdy crate on top of some moving boxes (that we'll apparently never unpack) and then zip-tie the charger to the crate. Cost: $0.02. That's literally my two cents.

I assume that this will work for a 2020 Q5 e?

Bought the Mount from the dealer. Can’t recall if it came with screws but we have a ton of extras. Definitely enough room up top to hang the cable without need for the extra hook

On a whim, I checked thingverse to see if anyone has thought to design and upload a 3D printer file for the charger mount. What I found is this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4600924

It looks like it was designed for the A3 etron, but may work, or may require only small modifications? Anyone with a 3D printer want to try it and report back?

I ended up ordering a Juicebox charging unit with a built in wall mount and a cord hook. I'm keeping the Audi charger in my frunk to use when I'm away from home. I opted for the plug-in 240 connection at my house so I can use the Audi charger as a plug and play backup to the Juicebox.

If you still have this bracket I’d love to buy it from you. It’s ridiculous the price that Audi wants to charge for something which should come standard with EVSE.

Just got 8V4-915-706-E

Hello!

I bought 8V4-915-706-E for a steep price of 189 €.
It incudes separate type2 pistol holder cup. Both parts have a lip for holding up the cable.

Well, for that price it has a lock so insurance company might pay a new charger if this is stolen 😷. And repairs of the car if forcefully removed plug causes damage.
