2015 A7 Euro Delivery
5 Attachment(s)
Took delivery of our 2015 A7 in Ingolstadt last Monday. It replaced our 2012 A7 so not much to learn about the car.
Overall it was a wonderful experience. Felix at the forum that handled the delivery was great and will look forward to doing it again. Our itinerary took us from Ingolstadt -> Lindau (Germany) -> Zell am See (Austria) -> Salzburg (Austria) -> Munich for drop off. Here are some pics from the trip. |

Great pics. We are taking ED of our A7 on Sept 29th!
Looking forward! |
Thanks for sharing! Looks like we may have video also?

Good eye... I mounted the GoPro for the Grossglockner High Alpine Road. However, it was lightly raining and at the summit snowing so the videos didn't turn out.

Beautiful car - congrats ChicagoA6. We literally must of just missed each other. I had a 10 am pickup.

We are starting to get excited about our Oct. 20 delivery of our S4. All of the surrounding dates were booked solid. Audi must be at their maximum for European Delivery. Does anyone know how many they can schedule per day? |

How was the drive to Paris? |

Does anyone know how many they can schedule per day? For Dgrant69 and myself it was a slow day with only ~200 cars being delivered. BTW... Dgrant69 and myself were the only 2 Americas picking up that day. Interesting is that they only have a small handful of Americas picking up each day. Vast majority are Germans taking delivery at the factory. |

We actually asked this question because the delivery process was extemely efficient. At peak times they can deliver 300-350 cars per day. Our delivery manager said the parking lot out front is packed with cars on those days.

Yes, that was us. We drove to Paris that afternoon and spent a week there. The drive was great. We hit lots of great sections on the Autobahn, so I really got a chance to play with the car. How was your trip? Where did you guys go?

What a great experience....I'm jealous. I regret not doing ED with the RS7. Thanks for sharing!

Well, it looks like you got the best weather that central Europe can offer in August!
Would love to have anyone taking ED to visit Italy. Around a 5-6 hour drive from Munich to Vicenza. Have lived here over 10 years so the wife and I could show you the real Italy. Even if you're just passing thru there's always time for a cappuccino or a glass of wine. |

According to "Official Guide to European Delivery (2014 Edition)" in 2013 Audi deliver 320 cars to US customers by European Delivery. BMW around 2000.

Autobahn was fun, but for me the winding roads through Austria were the highlight of the trip |
Can you tell me how long it was between placing your order and it being ready for pick up?

Our delivery date slipped to August 12th, but that was the only hiccup. My advice is to make sure you have a dealer that has done Euro delivery before. Its a lot of coordination and having someone that knows what they are doing makes it easier. Jack Broder was our Sales Rep at Fletcher Jones Audi Chicago and he was amazing. He might have been more excited than us. |
My A6 2016 was ordered in late February for delivery on June 29. Cost was MSRP less 6% and loyalty $1500. Pickup will be in Neckarsulm rather than Ingolstadt. Bringing the wife and two grandkids along, M-11, F-14. Staying for 36 days.
Previous ED was 2013 S5 in 2012. Blog is still up for that trip. No kids last time. fithians.com |
