Default Back from Central Europe - Black Cherry A8 on its way home!

Still recovering from jet lag but wanted to let you know that we had an incredible time loggin 1400 miles in our new Cherry Black A8 while travelling through the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany.
I know there has been a lot of discussion of exactly what the Black Cherry looks like. All I can say is that I'm thrilled that I took a huge gamble and chose this color sight-unseen. From a distance or in minimal light it tends to look black. In the daylight it has a rich deep burgendy hue that goes beautifully with the Amaretto interior.
OK - details on the trip:
Picked up the car in Neckarsulm. Perfect experience! We started off watching the assembly of A8s which was fun, but seeing the hand production of R8s was a really fun experience. Each R8 is dyno tested for an hour - I only watched one being tested for about 10 minutes, but it was still fun to see the beast revved up and down.
The staff at Neckarsulm treated us first class. We were picked up (at 7:30am) in Munich and driven in a Q7 (at speeds in excess of 120MPH) to the Neckarsulm forum. Apparently, the Ingolstadt forum is undergoing renovations for the next few weeks. Following the great tour and a very nice luncheon at the restaurant in the forum, we collapsed for a needed night's rest at a rather unremarkable hotel in Neckarsulm.

Following the advice of a fellow traveller, we stayed in the Andel section of Prague. It's on the west side of the river in a more modern section of the city. Since I was travelling with my wife and two children, we choose to rent an apartment around the corner from the Andel Metro station. This was by far and away the best bargain of our trip. We paid 285 euros for three nights in a two-bedroom apartment. They charged me another 15 euros to park my car in a secure underground garage. The best part was that my car was the only car in the garage for 2 days - no worries about someone banging a door into the new car! I found the apartment through Priceline-Europe which I also used to find hotels for the other stops on our tour.

I'll continue with this thread a bit later. Also, how does one upload photos? I've got some nice pics to share.

Now I understand why the A8 has electronically retractable side view mirrors!

I was fortunate - all the garages I used were relatively empty. One of the advantages of travelling in January!

Agree. My son took these pictures with a professional Canon digital camera with an L series lens. You really do have to see it in person to really appreciate this color. Most of my friends think I bought a black sedan.
