Work in progress as far as plans. I have two tickets to the 2Cellos concert in the Pula, Croatia Roman Amphitheater on Sunday night July 2. So crossing the Alps through some passes on the way to Pula (Stelvio pass, Cortina Italy, Lake Como, Milan, possibly Monoco) and than back across northern Italy to Pula, Croatia. Staying one night before the concert at the Meneghetti winery and hotel (amazing place Wine hotel | Meneghetti ), After that down the coast of Croatia to the Island of Hvar. Have to take my friend back to Munich so she gets her flight on July 10 and than back across the Alps somewhere. Will be working out of my cousins condo on the coast of Croatia for most of August (have to work to pay for all of this). Taking advise from folks here on routes to take. Have the car till Sept 15 when I plan on dropping it off somewhere in Austria or Munich. Also looking for suggestions on a good web page to upload pictures and my write ups (no facebook).

That plastic piece looks familiar, although I didn't take much notice of it since the delivery guy didn't mention it at all. I just assumed it was similar to the plastic tags that dealerships attach to your keys when you get your car serviced. Mine didn't have the black plastic key or the Audi keyring (I did get a separate gift box with two keyrings on it though).
Anyway, Brad has confirmed that this can be easily replaced when my car is delivered to the dealer here in the US, and that it won't add any significant time to the process, which is a relief.

I would have loved to get down into Croatia, but chose to chop it out so that I could do more of central Europe. I can definitely recommend Triglav National Park (specifically Bled) in Slovenia, if you're looking for a stop on the way through.
I wish I'd paid a bit more attention to looking for decent driving routes. The best road section I found was from Vienna to Prague, and it was phenomenal. I'm sure that just including the Alps will help immensely - I have a motorcycle tour planned for next year, and we're definitely planning on doing exactly that.

The other side of the key ring has inscribed Audi Forum Neckarsulm.
You did not get a black plastic key? The delivery specialist explained to me what the tag and black key was for.

That key ring is a hunk of metal with a sharp point, not something I want to carry in my pocket. I gave one of the key rings to my sales rep along with the rear license plate. (I'd already pulled the front plate before I left Germany.)

I got two similar key rings from Audi Ingolstadt but no black key with my A4.

The key ring doesn't have a sharp point. The tip is rounded off.

Thanks to the OP for a great write up. It was very informative for someone like who is planning to do an ED later this year. My family and I are all looking forward to picking up our new Q7!
