I was told by my delivery specialist at Neckarsulm that my car would be covered on the ship and I forgot to ask my dealer if my car was covered when it arrived at my dealer. Unfortunately I cannot confirm it was covered. When I get a chance, I'll ask my dealer about it.

I'm getting ready to go through this process, and want to understand the current expectations.
According to Audi, they no longer require the VAT payment but they said it was up to each dealer if they still want to collect a check. My dealer still wanted a check. It was placed in my file and they tore it up when my car arrived back at the dealer.

Thanks - will be interesting to know. Sounds like they at least do in principle, which is a good start.

Good info, thanks. An uncashed check sounds ideal - not that it's critical, but it would be nice not to be giving them an interest free loan for the duration of the ED!

My dealer also will take the check but not cash it. I have an S5 scheduled for a June 26 pick up. I plan on keeping it in Europe for the full 90 days.

Is it possible to order my Q7 in Denver Colorado and have it delivered to the Audi dealer in Jacksonville Florida after we drop it off in Munich for shipping to the US?

I know that this is definitely possible in BMW's ED program, but the Jacksonville dealer might charge you a fee ($500?) for prepping the vehicle before you pick it up. It will be best to check with Brad Boyer at Audi North America. He will give you a definitive answer. His E-Mail address is: Bradley.Boyer@audi dot com. He is a great guy and will definitely get back to you within a day.

Enjoy.

I thought about creating a separate thread, but didn't want to clutter the board . . .

This is all about a special shout-out to Brad Boyer at AoA ED. I've done a bunch of BMW EDs and knew Audi's program was not quite as developed. I was ready to be frustrated, but after six weeks of zero information from my dealer, my frustration finally boiled over and I decided to call Brad.

What an incredibly nice guy. And a knowledgeable guy. I gave him my comm number. He knew my order and he knew what the issues were with it. Within five minutes he gave me the scheduled production date and the approximate order freeze date. And we agreed on a pick-up location and date. Everything I needed to know and couldn't get from my dealer. Just an amazing resource.

Brad, if you monitor this board, you know who I am. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Brad Boyer is the best, isn't he! I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments of the previous poster. Anyone who is doing an Audi ED should definitely reach out to him.

Hi all,

Is it customary for the dealership to charge the $975 destination fee on a ED purchase?

Thanks
