Default Questions for you ED pick-up Vets!

Hi all,

I have read through most of the threads and had just a few questions.

1. Can someone share with me where they have seen that the destination charge of $825, should not be charged for an ED customers.

2. Roughly, after placing your initial order at the dealership how soon was your car built?

3. Anyone in the Denver area that can recommend a "Seasoned" dealership in ED?

4. At the factory, did you find a store that offered car accessories? IE. Roof racks??? Where they discounted. "CarolK" I think this one you might be able to answer?!!?

Thanks in advance for your help. I have done ED before with other car manufactures and it helps to have knowledge on your side;-)

Default I'll try and answer a few of your questions.......

I have never seen where the destination charge is not charged. That being said, when we did Volvo ED they do not charge and I mentioned this to my dealer and they waived it based on my argument, it's not a new car and Audi is shipping over "just another used car". Also, since we were the first to do ED with Audi I am guessing no one had thought that one through and decided it wasn't a big deal at the time.

Our car was built within 6 weeks from when we ordered. Keep in mind though, the Q7 had been out for about a year by then and inventory had been built up. Newer models (B8 S4) may have a longer wait time and others less. We also ordered a different color than the no charge paint options and were told it takes a week or 2 longer for that as well.

The Factory has a store you can buy from but it is mainly an Audi Lifestyle store. We went to a dealer in Ingolstadt (forgot the name) and looked at buying/ordering parts there. We decided not to buy anything though.

Can't help with a Denver dealer.......sorry.

Good Luck and let us know how it turns out. We always love to see new pics and read write ups.

Thanks for the help. I ask about the Dest charge due to someone mentioning down below and not to pay it! I remember when we did Volvo pick up in 02 they waived it.

Looking at a TTS and looks like inventory is not too bad. So hopefully 6 weeks.

I remember Volvo had an options catalog at the factory that was almost 1/2 price of what you could buy stuff for in the States. So thanks for that info!

I will certainly update and post pics of our 3rd ED pick up!!

I think we are addicted to Euro deliveries!!!

I was surprise to hear from you guys, that Volvo waive Destination Charge.
Not the case with BMW - must pay.
BMW waive MACO and Training fee.

Here is the answer from Audi on my question about ED charges:

"Time, you can see the definitions on our website pages on European Delivery: "*All MSRPs exclude taxes, title/documentary fees, registration, tags, Audi Dealer prep, labor and installation charges, insurance, optional equipment and accessories, certificate of compliance and non-compliance fees, and finance charges. Destination charges apply."

Audi does pay the shipping from the drop-off location to the port of shipping. Full information on what is and is not covered can be found in the pages indicated earlier in our correspondence.

Thank you again for your interest."

That is interesting. This is what I have on the European Delivery Program
Audi of America
Dealer Resource Guide 2009

"All MSRPs exclude taxes, title/documentary fees, registration, tags, Audi Dealer prep, labor and installation charges, insurance, optional equipment and accessories, certificate of compliance and non-compliance fees, and finance charges."

Notice the Destination charge phrase missing. Wonder if someone just added that in?!?!

This is my favorite clip out of that document.

"The recommended selling price for the vehicles is MSRP* less the applicable published discount. The final selling price is negotiated between the dealer and the customer."

yep - at the end it's all depend of your negotiated skills and willing on the dealer part to go lower.
they don't yet publish discount for Q5, let's assume that the same 5% as Q7.
"Audi Q7 Models up to 5%"
Is there still possibility to go lower than 5%?
If car finance tru Audi Financial Services (lease or loan) - any additional (0.25%-0.5%) discount?

8/7 Received commission number and actual production date (9/24) from Audi
8/8 Received welcome package
8/15 Requested 10/15 delivery date (from Kathy)
8/17 Delivery date of 10/15 confirmed / ok'd (by Kathy) - ok to book travel.
9/27 Go pay the dealer and get bill of sale.
9/29 Received final paperwork for pick up.

10/15 Delivery
10/22 Dropoff
11/14 Ship arrives in the Port of Houston
11/20 Car arrives at dealership and delivery to me.

Can't help you on Denver dealers.

There were accessories and Audi toys available in Ingolstadt, and there were more substantial custom parts at the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm. If you ask at the Audi exclusive desk, they'll look up whatever part numbers you want and point you to a local dealer.

Everyone is very helpful when you're there..just ask.

I just send e-mail to ED department - let's wait for answer
Get response: "Yes, mr. Time, leasing is available for European Delivery; see your dealer for details of a leasing transaction."
