Update on our Audi European Delivery.......and found the top speed of our Q7 ;-)
After delivery we drove about 3 hours east into Prague. Incredibly beautiful city, untouched by the 2 World Wars, it is still all intact with a lot of history

After 3 days we were back in Germany to visit the original Christmas Market in Nurnberg. My wife loved it and had a great time buying Christmas gifts and enjoying the whole German Christmas atmosphere. I definately have had my share of Gluvine (spiced wine), beer, and bratwurst of course ;-)

Monday we headed to Zermatt, Switzerland where we found more than a few open stretches of autobahn on the A5 headed south into Switzerland. This is where we found (so far :-) the top speed of the Q7.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/70417/134_mph.jpg">
Now we are in Zermatt (The Matterhorn) where we are taking in the beatiful scenery and of course doing some skiing.......can't come all the way here and not ski a few times.......right?

Anyways, just thought I would share some more of our trip and I know a few wanted to see top speed pics.

Engine break-in
I really want to do this delivery program! The only concern that I have is engine break-in. Isn't it strongly recommended to take it slow (less than 5000 RPMs) for 1000 miles? That means it would be days before I could put the hammer down, right?
BTW, if I do go, I am building some possible routes here:

I made sure to ask this question when we took.......
delivery. They definately said to take it easy the first 1000km's (about 620 miles) and try not to keep a constant speed for too long. After that you can start to run it up gradually. I have to say I ran it up with almost 700 miles on her.
My uncle use to race cars and he mentioned there is some validity into breaking in a motor, but also said you have to decide if you want to break in the motor to go fast or not.
I personally felt safe with about 1200 km's into our trip to open her up.
BTW, your trip looks like it would be great. I'm betting if you went the way of Salzburg first, by the time you re-entered Germany from France you would be well into the break-in period and you would easily get a chance to run her open.
Keep us posted.
