Wax?
 

Does anyone know if Audi puts on a coat of wax on the car prior to delivery? I ask in the interest of protection of brand-new paint and also to make cleaning easier prior to drop-off.

I searched and could only find people discussing what BMW does at the Welt; some are certain that BMW cars are waxed with carnuba before delivery in their ED program.

Never heard about BMW wax their car before delivery, but see few post on Bimmerfest where guys applied Ziano in underground parking right after delivery.

When I took delivery in August I asked about wax. All the car had was a spray-on wax that offered little protection (although they said it was a "wax").

When I dropped the car off at the Munich Airport they washed and waxed the car for 40 Euros. Not sure what the quality of wax was, but when I got the car home I washed, clayed and waxed the car.

All told no issues whatsoever with the quality of the finish and I'm very particular about my car's appearance.
