Car & Driver 'Shooting Break' first drive previews upcoming TT
 

<center><img src="http://gallery.audiworld.com/albums/album70/SBC050005.sized.jpg"></center><p>The latest issue of `Car &amp; Driver' magazine, available at news stands now, has a brief article about taking the Shooting Break concept on a real-world test drive.

Since the Shooting Break is actually a heavily modified next-generation TT, Car &amp; Driver was confident in applying much of the concept's driving impressions to the forthcoming production TT redesign.

The magazine stated that the Shooting Break drove far better than the current 'wobbly' TT, using words like 'flatter' and 'sharper'.

Although the concept weighed in at 3500 pounds, expect the actual new TT's frame, which the magazine said would be 80% aluminum, to be much lighter.

This is excellent news for Audi enthusiasts. Although the current TT is a design icon, the sports car has often been criticized for its sometimes substandard handling. The article even mentioned how the Mazda Miata was a more enjoyable car to drive than the old TT.

But it looks like this new TT may be everything the outgoing car wasn't in terms of competitive driving dynamics.
