It's pretty exciting to see the rs5 coming here, but i'm just bummed they couldn't get any more creative than the 4.2 again.

It's not the same engine that did service in the RS4, it's complete new from top to bottom.

I've been told it's the same as the R8 4.2, including the dry sump.

I wish I could lay my hands on the data but I can't, anyway as far as I remember the RS5 uses a different head to that of the RS4/R8v8.

Dry sump? Sexayyyyyy! Means they're expecting the car to be thrown around, hard...

Big Mistake, sending the RS5 to America is going to mean the end of that car's reputation. I have driven Audi now for 42 years, our family has always had some form of 4 ring car, be it a DKW, Auto Union or Audi and even an NSU RO80.
I moved to America from South Africa, planning on really living my dream, starting a small private Audi museum, even shipping my 74 Coupe 100S, DKW Hummel and one of the larger Audi diecast collections in the world to Texas. I also bought a couple of older Audi's and then a 2006 A4 2.0T for my son.
The experience we had with his new A4, the experience I had with servicing my cars and the general American Audi attitude has now, after so many years driven me to the point where I am moving on. He has already traded his Audi on a Ford and I will be selling off my die-cast collection and cars to cleanse us from any Audi association.
When Johan de Nuyschen, from Audi S.A. became president of Audi USA I believed that we will see things happening to get this beautiful country up to par. To no avail, Audi still has no recourse on their dealers and these do business the way they see fit, especially in the Houston are. If an A5, 2008 with only 40,000 miles on the clock stops shifting and the owner can get no decent assistance from any Audi dealer in the area. He has already spent more tha $35000 on trying to get this fixed and he finds that the attitude at Audi US HQ is, dealers problem, talk to your dealer then one can actually understand why we do not see the more upmarket Audi's in this country.
Heart breaking, but here it is- Goodbye to my favorite marque, as long as I have to stay in the US I will never drive one again
