Converting to switchblade key for 1997 S6 (need part number) ....
Hi Guys,
I believe a few of you lucky enough to have a 1997 S6 have converted to the newer style switchblade key with the 3 button remote, lock, unlock, and trunk. I am hoping to do the same to my 1997, as my original remotes are dead.
Does anyone have the part number of the switchblade blank needed to convert, and also know if the dealer will cut the blank as well?
TIA

I have one in my hand but there are no visible PNs. It's a 4 button: L/unL/trunk/panic. Dealer.
Some dealers have the key cutter, but not all. They will charge but maybe not if you buy the fob there (probably $180). (I got mine off eBay with a key blank for about $65)

From my research...
Have not done this yet.
2000-01 A4, A6 Switchblade remote
FCC# MZ2 410 819 6 4 (no trunk button)
PN 4D0.837.231D
FCC# MZ2 410 819 6 3
PN 4D0.837.231E
If the FCC# matches, it should work.
