Default Ok update: I installed the 1.9 spring again and turned the spring perch all the way up...

since it was all the way down! The car seems to run better now. I get more boost sooner and then when I get past 6000rpms the ecu limits the boost to below 20psi which I think is normal. At WOT at 3500rpm needle stays at 26ish PSI than after 5000rpm and up starts to go down steadily. Thanks for all the help!

Default may have same problem. ..

Hey I know this post is old but I am having an issue with my 91 200 20vq and I just installed a boost gauge about an hour ago and I'm peaking at 6lbs. I have changed all the hoses to Samco or 034, changed ecu's with a proven ecu, and all other little vac lines and still stuck at 6. The car is completely stock.
I ordered a 1.9 spring that arrived a few days back and original ecu is being socketed and chipped this week. I'm just doing a little research before install. I was curious if what you guys are talking about be my problem? Bad diaphram? Any input is always appreciated. Thanks guys!

Default N75 WGFV and Moisture Trap

Your issue is not the waste gate spring. Your issue is either the N75 Waste Gate Frequency Valve (WGFV) is knackered *OR* the hose between the intake manifold and the ECU Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor has come off, either at the ECU OR at the moisture trap (should be on the firewall). As a result, the ECU is either not getting a properly boost signal to make decisions with or those decisions are not being carried out by the N75. Since you are getting 6 psig from your boost gauge, I think its the hose connection. DO NOT go ahead with the chip installation until this is resolved because the chips will not have any benefit until you fix this. FORGET the 1.9 Bar WG spring - not really needed until you are RS2 turbo levels or above.

For more info click on the appropriate labels (N75 and Moisture Trap) in this diagram:

Default success!

Thank you for the hot tip urs4boy! Been tinkering with what the problem may have been for months. Get a new n75 valve, 20 mins later, she is running better than I ever hoped she would! Since I went through and changed a lot of different possible problems, she is nice and maintenenced for plenty of boost she has coming
