Default Air bag warning light

My air bag warning light has been on for a while now. put a piece of electrical tape over it. I always wear seatbelts and view these bags as an added expense. Does anyone know how to make the light go out without tearing apart the dashboard? (or spending $ at a dealer)

Default Sounds like you already did (I'll call you Homer...)

Anyway, I'm not positive, but it may have its own fuse that could be pulled. No idea if that totally takes the airbag out of commission though or if that would be just another reason for the bulb to illuminate. Sorry I can't be of more help, personally that's one of the systems I would rather have fully operable (even though I wear belts too).

PS - Do you know if the seatbelt pre-tensioners are related to the airbag circuit in any way? If so, you may be decreasing your seatbelt safety as well.

Default Check Recall Notices, I think that ....

there was a recall on the airbag sensors. Putting a piece of tape over the light is asking for trouble. That thing could go off at anytime while you are driving, not a good thing...
I believe that there is a recall section on www.urs4.com or www.audi-s-cars.com

Default Oh, I thought there were minor pyro's involved

But perhaps I'm thinking of something else entirely or a newer version (?) Or maybe someone else like Volvo or Saab...
Oh well, I stand corrected.

Default Procon 10 info...

To the original poster: there is an airbag recall, which can be found on www.urs4.com. Go to the S4/S6 FAQ and the recalls are listed there.

Thanks for the info - didnt' realize there was a recall! Of course the a-hole dealer I took the car to for the fuel line recall said squat about it. Not sure how I missed it at the urs4 site.
