With all of the hybrid and other turbo options, is the RS2 turbo still worth the money?
I want to get close to the max HP with stock internals, and I am wondering if I should go the RS2 route ($1400) or with one of the turbos offered by garret or Javad? What is the max that I can expect from a RS2 315 whp or so? Are the other makers as reliable? Has anyone had a failure from their hybrid? Has anyone had Javads RS2 comparible unit on a dyno? $1400 has me doing alot of thinking before I buy. For you guys running a RS2 setup, would you do it again or go a different route or stayed content with a MTM chip?

Yes and no.
Marc S and I run the same the same set-up...almost. I have a stromung and RS2, he runs a stock exhaust and Javad. The chips are identical. We pulled almost the same numbers on the dyno last year. The RS2 is more money but is plug and play; what Marc is running requires some work to install but is cheaper.
That said, your question was highest horsepower on stock internals - using that criteria, I'd go something different that RS2 from Javad, but be prepared to accept more lag. |
What numbers did you get on the dyno?

I just looked up the sheets earlier today.
Right around 280 at the wheels.
My setup at the time was RS2 turbo and exhaust manifold, Stromung with cat, Racetronics 37 lb/hr injectors, Samcos, FMIC. |
37 lb/min at 4 BAR is equal to how many cc/min?

What level of driveline loss is usually attributed (factored) on these cars?
|
I've heard numbers all over the place, since everyone uses different numbers,
it using wheel HP is the most meaningful comparison.
|
Does anyone know what a stock S6 puts down at the wheels?
|
180ish

looks like you're gonna have to do your own math on that one - lol.
