Default battery vent tube, and no place to put it on my battery...

the guy I bought the car from had the battery replaced a few years back with an interstate mt-41. It isn't a maintenance-free battery. When doing the IC bulbs, etc... I unhooked the battery and noticed the vent tube was not attached to anything. Having read here that it must be hooked to the battery, I tried to find a port for it. None there. Did they put the wrong battery in the car or is this ok? I don't want to be breathing battery fumes. I am thinking I need to get a new one if this isn't right.

Default You have the wrong battery. Get a correct one with a vent on the + end.

Watch the battery height. If it is too tall and there is no cover on the + terminal, somebody sitting on that side of the backseat can cause a car fire when the metal frame of the seat foam support shorts out the battery, starting the foam on fire.

Not a pretty sight. ("CrispyChikAAN")
