Audi A4 locked out

Audi A4 locked out
Hi Folks
I have a 1996 Audi A4 Avant. I popped the bonnet, locked the car and removed the battery and then closed the bonnet. I've now discovered I cannot unlock the car on the key without power. I can't use jump leads to create power as the battery is not on the car to complete the circuit. I have removed the grille to see if I can access the bonnet lock but access is practically zero. Can anyone advise how I can release the bonnet or access the car without breaking a window?
