Can a bad ignition wire cause the ecu to die?

Default Can a bad ignition wire cause the ecu to die?
I was swapping OE coils on Black UrS6's car last night and we had everything running until for torqued down the coil cover fully.

after that it only cranks and doesnt run. Is it possible for the ecu to be damaged if spark shorted to ground? Where are the ECU fuses so I can check?

None of the wires are exposed, but there is one or two small spots where it split. I would imagine with that kind of voltage it would jump even w/o making contact.

Default Not very likely...
My car looked like it had a wiring job done by a 5 year old kid. The car was missing bad at high rpm's, once I re-wired everything there was no more issues.

Default You probably pinched one of the wires to the coil packs and shorted it out.
The fuse to the ECU is blown.

Default Also-
It briefly fired on 4 cyls, then died. Now won't fire at all.

Default Can we just replace fuse
should it fire right up or do we need to re-do wiring that was pinched?

Default Gotta fix the problem first, or the fuse will just blow again.
Those wires get very brittle.

Changed the fuse at the ecu and covered up the wires again and now everything is perfect
