your post doesn't quite make sense to me

sorry to sum it up...

I was having that mysterious battery drain issue. I replaced the battery, same problem. Basically according to what i found in the archives its a bad relay in the central locking pump. The check for this was the windows staying lit and of course the continuous noise on the driver side. According to one post, someone solved this by replacing with a pump for an A6. I was wondering if this is the route to go or have others found simpler solutions.

Those are the typical symptoms. AFAIK, any C4 central locking pump will work...

I tested a 92 pump in my late (November) build 95.5, and it worked fine in both my car and in the car it ended up in, which if I remember correctly was a 95 S6.

PSA: There is a warning on the pump that you have to unplug and/or plug the connectors in a specific order (I forget which- it's been a while), so watch out for that if you're replacing it. Every pump I've seen had the warning, but on the older ones it's only in German ;-)

whatever the controller is that works the

thing so that you can roll up all the windows with the key in the driver's door, i forget what it's called. You can simply disconnect it and you'll be fine.
