Default Clutch Question. I STFA and came up with alot of clutch issues with..

dead pedals going to the floor and staying there. My clutch went dead as I was coming to a stop sign, however it has full spring back to normal resting position. Problem is that it doesn't engage and allow shifting gears. Fluid level is ok in the brake reservoir and no chance yet to pull the master & slave.

Any BTDT with a similar clutch problem? Thanks in advance.

Default Same exact problem here... no solution yet, but....

I have replaced the slave cylinder, master cylinder, and re-bled everything 4 times (did not fix it) so now I have a new clutch on the way. If that does not fix it, I might just set the darn thing on fire!

Mine would sort of "half" engage, but not enough to be useful, is yours the same?

My clutch should be here Wednesday or so from South Bend, and I hope to have it running again by Sunday (wishful thinking), but I literally ordered every single thing in the bell housing brand new because this is a job I am only doing once!

I am also sort of shocked that you and I seem to be the only two to ever experience this!

You are not. If you searched here or on S-cars.org, you will find that it is fairly common.

Default That sounds so much like an

over extended slave cylinder. Not to famular with the Audi setup but my old 94 ranger when well worn would over extend the clutch fingers to the point that the PP springs couldn't return and would get stuck on the floor.. Took a new clutch to fix it but than again that was a ranger with 240K on it..

Default I was just going to work on getting the slave cylinder out to give it a..

look over. The fact I get normal tension on the pedal though leads me to think the hydraulics are ok. I'll check them anyway just to be sure.

Mine has no engagement at all, or more accurately, it is clamped down and will not lift off at all by pressing the pedal. I'm hoping I didn't f**k up the flywheel & starter when I had to start it in gear to get home.

It seems the South Bend clutches have a good rep with the S-Car community I may go that route if a replacement is necessary. Mind if I contact you off list for pricing/sources? Thanks.
