Coil keeps blowing!
I have been dealing with an issue for a very long time now and need some help.
Ignition coil on cylinder 2 keeps blowing. Car is RS2 spec/build. I used to run the 034 High Output coils until coil on cylinder # blew and I drove car on 4 cylinders and killed the crank pos sensor....car did not start for a while and after repaired mechanic left ground wire on coils loose and coil # 2 blew again. Since then I did a major rebuild of engine, installed EFI LS1 coil kit with Magnacore wires, checked all harness wires and after 1 day of driving I am back at same problem.
I have intermittent spark on cylinder 2! Again this is after I replaced head of engine with a 034 Motorsport stage 3 built head, I installed EFI LS1 coil kit with Magnacore wires, I installed brand new Bosch spark plugs, and same issue. I swapped ECU's twice as well and issue does not go away.
I guess this means I have to check all of the wires on harness again because there must be short or issue there.
If any other ideas please let me know as this has become a nightmare for me.
I am starting to entertain the thought of switching to MSD ignition. Has anyone done it to this model S4 yet??

Too many references to 034 in that story for my liking. Waste of money on the "Stage 3" head IMO. Money could have been better spent elsewhere.
The EFI Express coil kit is based on GM LS2 V8 coils and is about as good as they get. Easier to work with than the 034 HO coils and their exclusive supply and limited warranty. LS2 coils are cheap and readily available.
EFI Express : LS2 UrS4/S6 Plug and Play Coil Kit - $425.00
I strongly suggest that you contact Marc S. at EFI Express with you story to see if he has some ideas. There have been issues with some LS2 coils not being happy on some AAN applications (an ECU issue). I can't remember the solution. Marc will know.
