Default electric like buzzing sound coming from the inside the dash

not sure where from exactly, behind cluster or below that. sound description: winding a watch or those toy cars you pull back to wind em up. like plastic gears not working right.
everything in car was working proper, turned off CC and noise was still there, not effected by engine speed, not radio.
did not make sound when car was in on position, only when running, started as soon as I turned the car on, lasted about 25 miles and has not happened again yet.

one idea is the fan in the dash for the auto CC thermostat, Mech. has heard similiar sound on a 100 when this fan died. does this fan run all the time, even if CC is off?
any other ideas?

oh and it was not constant, it would at random slow down and speed up, stop for a second and go again.

it stopped all together when I finally got out to check where it was coming from.

Default Sounds like a climate control servo motor. Either that or your GF dropped her vibrator down the...

defrost vents.

(Check for fault codes on the HVAC system).

I just heard that noise in my 2008 A3 that I bought last week. As soon as I start the car, something buzzes in the dash for a few seconds. Then while driving, it buzzes for 2 seconds, approx. Every minute. Seems like the noise is clocked with same lenghth of silence in between the buzz sounds.
Anyone have any ideas?

Wrong forum for 2008 A3.

Perhaps try here - https://www.audiworld.com/forums/audi-a3-s3-rs-3-13/

Default Buzzing sound from dashboard on Audi V8 of 1990

I have a similar problem with my Audi V8 of 1990. But I can't find the solution in the forum, does anybody know what is causing this buzzing sound and more important, how to fix it? Thanks in advance!!

How high is the sky??

The buzzing could be any number of stepper motors or relays, etc.

Start with pulling the Climate Control Diagnostics from Channel 52 in the climate control head as per this pdf:

http://12v.org/urs/Climate%20Control...0&%20Codes.pdf

Then report back and we will move to the solution.
