Got my thermostat in. fixed my leaks (i think) Got some picture questions.

That Tstat was a BIATCH to get out, banged on it, mangled it, and ripped it out!

A) OK, in the first pic it was obviously leaking, i tighted the hose clamp and cleaned it up. What is that hose for?
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/58485/some_leaks_001.1.jpg">

B) Second, i would like to know what the 2 pin sensor is, my conectors are VERY brittle, almost killed myself trying to take it off to do Tstat, it sparked a lot.

C) Third, these two pics are of my coolant leak, the one from above is the hose it was leaking, the clamp was VERY loose, i took my michelin man hose off to tighted it, cleaned it off as well, the second pic i want to know what those sensors are as well, so many sensors they cant all be for engine temp lol.

second pic of leak from under car.

If someone could answer A B and C for me id really appriciate it, thanks guys.

That last pic it shows the lower Rad hose is really wet, that is the one that was leaking up by where it splits off and goes 2 different ways, i tighted that hose clamp which is shown in another pic.

The two pin connector is your after "fun" pump switch. It is electrically hot ALL THE TIME. SO....

you need to be careful to not short the two wires out when you remove them to get room to change the thermostat. (But you know that now).

The other photos need arrows to show where you are seeing the leaks.

K dave ill update it soon, thanks for the help. i hope i didnt hurt that hot switch :D

sk88erguy 02-21-2006 05:21 PM

ok ive updated it with circles, did it fast but would liek to know what the circled sensors are..

and if my leaks are ok by just tightening the clamps. thanks dave!

I've found the two clamps you tighted have a tendency to become loose. Nothing to worry about, just

tighten them as you did. Careful not to go overboard as this can be just as bad if not worse than a loose clamp. If you want, you can replace the two factory "crush" clamps on the hydraulic resevoir as they tend to leak.

ya i hope i didnt go too tight, what is that leak thats in my first picture do you know?

That clamp wasnt that loose, i dont think i even tighted it a full turn. im nto sure what the hose is for.

But ya i think i did fix the coolant leak, will keep an eye on it though, any idea what the two sensors are towards the bottom of the radiator (4th pic)

The one with the black plug is for your fans and the green one is for your A/C I think.

Atleast that's what it looks like.
