guys what tyre pressures are you running in on 225x40x18's and putting in 38psi??
 

just that im finding im getting shoulder wear on my fronts,i run mitchelin pilot 2's,and get about 15thousand miles out of the fronts.my alignment is done every year,and my shocks are new,and front bushes new.Is it just a trait of our cars to wear on the shoulders,or do you recon to put a couple of psi more in.

I run 38-40psi all around on my 17s
 

and 42 all around when i know the car will be loaded (as in full of people and luggage for a trip), that's per audi's recommendations on the fuel door.

Are you getting wear on both edges of the tire or just the inside?
 

Wear on just the inside edge is a sign that your alignment is off. Lowered cars often can't get within spec for camber unless you modify the camber plates or have adjustable ones.

If you are getting even wear on both inside and outside edge it could be from under inflation. 38 psi should be plenty to prevent edge wear.

just funny been the same for the last 7 years always put it down to the characteristics of the car.Thinking of increasing the psi to 40??

40 psi may help, but it seems like it would be pretty harsh esp w/ 18's
 

I would ask around at your local tire shop for suggestions.

Are you sure the tires were never driven underinflated? 38 psi is quite high. I run my 17's at 36 psi and have never had an issue with edge wear that would indicate underinflation. 18's may be different.

if you run on these, 38psi is the correct pressure.
