Default Info needed on ecu by Pastore with an external map sensor

Gentz,

I need to swap an ecu into an S6 that has been modified evidently by Robert Pastore with an extermal map sensor.

The ECU going in has a VMAP, and I need to know how to return the S6's
ecu harness to stock. Is it as simple as clipping the cables to the map sensor or is it more involved than that?

Anyone know?

Thanks
Chris

Default The external Map sensor is wired into the PCB not the harness. Therefore, should be just plug and

play. No mods.

Default Unfortunately this map sensor is wired into the ECU harness NOT the ECU

The map sensor is loose next to where the ECU
would reside with a cable running into the ECU harness's connector.

Default Okay then I would guess that they have used some empty pin positions in the harness side connector

which they picked up on the inside of the ECU box. Your new ECU will not have the ECU-side connectors and therefore, the signal will not reach the ECU. Just install the new ECU and leave the GM Map dangling (disconnected from power, etc).

Default on mine the pins on the ecu connector were clipped internally

and three new pins were pushed into the connector which came out the back of the harness connector and ran to the external map. To convert the car back to internal I opened up the ecu, soldered the harness pins back together, installed vmap, and left the external map connection disconnected. worked fine.
