Default Just did the VAG COM test

I'm pretty confused!! I just came from a friend workshop(the VAGCOM computer of the dealership was down) and after clearing all the failure codes the only one that remains is the MAF's one( signal to weak from the MAF- it says). Iddeas?
Oh, today I assembled the headlights and drove the S for about 20Km!!! The car behaves like a beast!!! But I must press the throttle very gently, or it will start backfiring and the engine will hesitate from the 2000rpm till the 3000rpm.

Default The code seems to match the symptoms.

I'd try to borrow an MAF for testing.

Default I was thinking maybe that blowoff valve may be causing some issues...

at vacuum they can allow air in or blow air out. Post MAF that could be a problem. I suggested he try tightening the adjustment so the valve is solidly closed at idle. Then again it may not respond very well like that.

BOV? Didn't see that...I'd ditch that first for sure.

Default I already performed the test you told me to do and it is ok-no leaks at idle.

I found another strange thing- the engine behaves the same way with or without the MAF plug connected, is it normal? As I told the MAF is new, but when I bought the car and after replacing the MAF I left the car at the dealership(they had the car there for 2 months and didn't solve half the problems I pointed them) and some months ago, after I started to upgrade the S, I found that the silicon cover of the MAF was gonne(I even called BOSCH dealership in Lisbon and he told me not to worry and also that I could pass on the CO2 test by screwing/unsrcrewing the calibration screw)... As I'm really losing my patience, I went for it and did screw and unscrew it 2 turns for each side and didn't notice any change on the engine idle. Then I disconnected the MAF plug and went for a ride- the engine behavior is the same as when the plug is connected and I find this very weard... Something came to my mind; the guys at the dealership tried to move the calibrating srew till the end and broke something inside the MAF??...

Default Yep, I'm sure I have a dead MAF!!

I disconnected the MAF plug again and went for another ride (just to be sure) and everything is equal; hesitation and backfiring between 2000/3000rpm and then... LOTS, LOTS, LOTS of power until the 7500rpm frontier is crossed. Yahhhoooo!!! I'm amazed with this beast!!
