Default Key remote abruptly stopped working!? What is wrong?

My key remote was working just fine for the last 2 years and then today it stopped working completely. I put in new batteries and tried a different key remote and it still won't respond. Is there a fuse or something else easy I can check? Or do I need to reprogram the infared? Thanks.

Try the reprogram first.

Have you had a dead battery or disconnected the battery? Try the key in the door then try the remote

Default I tried it but nothing happened..am I doing it right?

1 - Put one key into ignition and turn to on position.

2 - shut door and insert second key into door and lock door.

3 - remove key and press botton once.

This is what I did, is it right?

Never disconnected the battery and never had a dead battery.

Default I can't remember how the owner's manual says to do it.

That's the procedure I followed...

Default Mine hasnt worked in years... which is fine, as i've just gotten used to using the key

Not too much of a hardship really. For me it was an electrical fault in the car, and it simply wasn't worth it (to me anyway) to pay to have them diagnose and fix it, as electrical work can be a real money pit. Unfortunately from what you've said it sounds like this may be the case for your car.
