Default Low oil pressure

So I'm thinking that if my oil pressure gauge reads just barely above zero at idle but the autocheck indicator does not come on, that the reading is false and the sender needs to be replaced? The oil pressure reading does rise with RPMs but does not rise to the correct level.

My oil level is correct.

Default At idle the oil psi has to be below 0.3bar to trigger the warning...

which is quite low.

Default Hmmmmmm.... what other causes could there be?

Like I said, my oil level is fine. My oil pump must be turning...

I mean I guess I could have a blocked oil passage, a worn oil pump, worn bearings, etc.

but this problem just suddenly occured.

Default Hmmm, change your oil and filter if you haven't done it in a while...

also check for a heavy gas smell of very thin oil on the dipstick. I can gauge when my cars need oil changes just based on the oil psi at idle and on the highway generally. When idle goes from 1.7-2bar to 1bar or so I change up the oil even if it's before the scheduled mileage.

If you have a really badly leaking injector that could have thinned your oil massively. You could have a bottom end bearing issue. You could have a dying pump. Many things possible. Be careful running the oil psi too low, don't want no damage if there isn't any! I had 0.5bar oil psi on my 2.0t motor when it was blazingly hot at 800rpm, I never liked that, but it never had a problem with it.

I like 1bar for every 1k rpm.

Cheers,

Default Don't know if it helps, but I can post my readings;

Cold engine(right after starting):
Oil temp- 24 degrees celsius
Oil pressure(idle)- 4,8 bar

Hot engine(temp gauge needle almost in the midle):
Oil temp- 90 degrees
Oil pressure(idle)- 1,8 bar
Oil pressure(at full throttle)- 4,8 bar

Default Hmmm to me (if the reading is real) a sudden drop like that would indicate

either an oil pump failure or a problem with the pressure relief valve. The oil and filter were changed Sept. 24th. I guess I will try changing the oil and filter anyway as that is the easiest thing to do.
