The new Meyle strut mounts have few visual differences from the old....
Hopefully they are better manufactured.
Left to right: New (never installed) - Replacement to broken (never installed) - Broken (~100 mi)

Who do you think does OEM for Audi and others these days....Yes! You guessed it - Meyle.
Its just that the quality for Audi is different than for the separate customer...Yes - basics of economics...

I never said that, but, the OE mounts do last longer than others...
...I'd rather have 1 mount that last the life of the strut insert rather than replacing them multiple times. That to me is worth the extra cost. To each their own!
